Outside Sales Representative

Position Summary
Profitably grow Brinkmann Pumps’ US sales and market share by building and growing successful customer relationships, effective prospecting, and target account development. 
Meet and achieve short and long-term financial, strategic, and personal performance objectives as set forth by Sales Manager. Effective time management and territory planning are essential skills that will be required to increase sales to existing customers while developing new relationships with target accounts within given customer segments. Ability to work independently and be a self-starter; to follow supervisor’s instructions and work cooperatively with co-workers; maintain regular and timely attendance. 

Key Responsibilities 
  • Active prospecting, lead generation, and new account development
  • Establish new and maintain existing influential customer relationships 
  • Travel (approx. 80%) within an assigned US sales territory to meet potential new and visit existing customers
  • Develop and execute market growth strategies and project strategies to achieve company objectives 
  • Provide superior customer support, propose solutions, overcome objections, and respond to individual customer needs with a “customer first” mentality 
  • Visit, participate, and follow up on relevant industry trade shows
  • Meet and exceed provided sales objectives/quotas 
  • Report sales activities to Sales Manager 
     
Qualifications
  • College degree preferred, or min. 5 years of equivalent sales experience 
  • Knowledge of US machine tool industry preferred 
  • Knowledge of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps and fluid systems preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and desire to succeed
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Working knowledge of computers and common software tools (MS Office, ERP systems, Sales CRM) 
  • Natural ability to speak clearly and publicly with confidence
  • Effectiveness of presenting information to clients on a one-on-one basis
  • High level of self-motivation and positive attitude 
  • Ability to handle objections and provide alternatives in the sales process
  • Valid driver’s license
